Consider These Suggestions For Summer Travel
September 30th, 2009 by Lucy Katts

I’ve been thinking about where I could go with a lot of vacation attractions, but will be sensitive to my tight budget. Southern California would be a good possibility for your summer travel planning. SoCal offers beaches, amusement parks, Hollywood and many other attractions.

Hawaii would be another option. Although those warm beaches are hard to resist, there’s not as much variety in vacation options as California. There’s a friendly comparison between vacations in California vs. Hawaii at the SoCal Vacation Guru that you might find interesting. In Southern California you don’t need to worry as much about underwater rocks; also, the humidity is generally lower and the sunshine less intimidating. You’ll find the ocean water to be warmer in the Aloha State, but the cooler California water might actually seem more inviting on a hot summer day.

A Hawaiian vacation does offer beautiful subtropical vegetation and fascinating Polynesian cultural experiences. But don’t forget the melting pot of many different cultures to be experienced in California, as well as the mountains, desert and coastline.

The beaches are just one of many attractions to be enjoyed in Southern California. Don’t forget about the seven world-class theme parks waiting for your visit. If you are traveling with a lover of thrill rides, then Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm should be on your list; Six Flags and Knott’s roller coasters are especially noteworthy. Both offer many coasters and other fun rides. Disneyland has a few attractions that would be considered thrill rides, but not nearly as many as those other two parks.

There aren’t many roller coasters to be found in Hawaii, unless you consider wintertime surfing to qualify in that category. California is probably a more budget-friendly summer travel option, but now and then you really do need to get over to Hawaii.
