How the Wireless Dog Fence Works
October 4th, 2009 by Lucy Katts

A wireless dog fence is a revolutionary new concept in perimeter pet containment. A radio dog containment system provides a safe way to contain your pet . You start by plugging in a transmitter device somewhere in your home or garage. Most people like to pick a spot that is out of the way . The transmitter device sends out a signal around your property . Your dog wears an ultra light collar with receiver which listens for the signal. Whenever the collar is in range of the

signal, your pet is free to run and play . If the pet approaches the boundary of the signal zone, the collar emits an alert sound.

Should the animal go beyond the boundary , he will get a light “zap” which is startling but doesn’t hurt the animal . After a few easy training steps, your pet readily becomes aware of his containment area . Setting the containment areas of your property takes only a few minutes by adjusting the range on the transmitter , from a radius of just a small area to up to 90 feet.

Radio dog fences are extremely popular with dog owners. It is easy to see why, too. Wireless pet fences set up in minutes, are a breeze to install, are portable and can even be utilized during trips. These units provide a safe zone for your pet that cannot be dug under or broken down. Best of all, there is no need to bury wire , no trenches to dig and no pounding stakes and no fences to build.
