Math Can Be So Much Fun
Feb 26th, 2009 by Lucy Katts

Do you think that math is fun? Most people don’t. It is a fact that today mathematical skills are worse than they have ever been througout history. The reason for this is that nowadays computers are doing all the work for us.

When you are at the grocery store buying your groceries you don’t have to worry about keeping track at what your total is because the cashier up front will do it for you. And who wants to do it in their head only to find out that we were wrong and the computer can do it much faster?

We even use a spreadsheet at home to manage our personal or business budget, simply for the ease of use of a spreadsheet. There is just no need to do math in your head any longer. Computers and calculators have made our lives easier, but they’ve also made it easier to forget how to do math altogether.

For instance, consider the current financial crisis - if people were able to understand and comprehend what those everyday numbers meant, the situation would not be as dire as they are now. It is time to learn math again or at least teach our children so that they will be able to deal with an economic environment that will likely be very different than ours.

There are many cool math games you can play with your kids. This way they learn to deal with numbers instead of being afraid of them. A guide that can help you is the vedic math e-book that can be downloaded online. It is getting more popular every day as people like you and me start having fun with math again.
