Taekwondo Federations
Mar 18th, 2009 by Lucy Katts

World Taekwondo Federation Tae kwon do is a full contact sport where it is allowed to kick to the head (punching to the head is not allowed though), it is not very dangerous to practice Tae kwon do. Whilst sport fighting, full protection is used to protect the competitors. To minimise the chances of head injuries, a fighter allowed to participate in a competition for the next three months if one was knockedunconciousst by a blow to the head. If this should happen again after three months, they would not beallowed to take part for half a year. Another knockoutto the head after this half year period results in a total exclusion of competitions.

ITF Tae kwon do is so-called semi-contact. Fighters not allowed to attack the head with full force. However, it is allowed to throw punches to the head, by using the so-called “killing-blow”, stop just an inch before the target. To reduce injuries, ITF use gloves at sparring-competition.

The Olympic Taekwondo gave all of us a chance to see some of the best fighters in the world compete on the biggest stage well done to all of them

Tae kwon do is known for its dramatic flying and spinning kicks. The player should learn the basics of taekwondo through choreographed sequences of combative moves , the breaking of boards or other materials, and two person controlled sparring. They will also receive instruction in principles such as courtesy, integrity, perseverance, and self-control.

Radio drama shows are great for all ages!
Mar 18th, 2009 by Lucy Katts

When I started commuting almost an hour and a half to work, I got really, really bored. That’s a long drive, and frankly the news plays the same 5 minute sound bytes over and over again. I was losing my mind.

That’s when I discovered radio theater. I happened to be searching online and came across it. I don’t remember exactly what led me to it, but I’m so glad I found it.

My discovery led to some great old shows like The Shadow, Abbot and Costello, Lights Out, Campbell’s Theater. Very cool stuff. My drive to and from work for the day suddenly became a highlight instead of a chore.

However, the more I listened to the old radio shows shows, the more I got interested in whether or not there were any new shows that were created in the same “spirit” as the old ones.

Sure enough, there were! Great shows like Red Panda Adventures and Black Jack Justice from Decoder Ring Theater products. Very cool stuff.

Now, any time I’m bored sitting in a waiting room or taking a long drive, or just whatever, I let old time radio keep me entertained and enthralled instead of twiddling my thumbs.

To my great surprise, I often find myself wishing that my waits or drives were longer! Now how’s that for proof of how great these cool shows are?

Master Cleanse: The Secrets To Success
Mar 18th, 2009 by Lucy Katts

I stumbled upon the master cleanse program while looking for more info on fasting, it appears to be a very popular one and is considered pretty solid. Some of you may remember it as the same ‘diet’ Beyonce used to lose a few pounds for Dreamgirls.

Reports of other’s experiences were very encouraging to me and gave me an idea of what to expect. A few of the people who I spoke with about the master cleanse diet who had attempted it did not have the discipline to get by the first two or three days. I’ve fasted in the past and never could last without eating at all as most fasts require. Technically, being a juice fast the master cleanse does offer some sustenance (the lemonade drink used for the cleanse is also why it is called the lemonade diet by some.)

The premise is simple, but simple does not equal easy.. Even with so few rules to follow it can be trying due to the will power required to get past the first few days. Luckily I came across a book (master cleanse secrets) that gives you lots of tips and tricks to make the master cleanse a much smaller challenge.

One thing touted is the weight loss from the diet but that was never my main concern. I am looking to get the toxin cleansing that it was originally created for. I felt really tired and sluggish lately and enough people have told me how much better they feel after a fast that I went for it once more.

The original book states to spend 10 days on the cleansing program, though I’ve heard of people staying on it longer. Like 20+ days long.. I decided to commit to only 5 days to see how I reacted. Considering I never made it past 2 days before that was quite an accomplishment.

I have to give credit to the secrets book. It was a great resource that kept me going when I hit a sticking point . Knowing it was there with answers gave me a lot more confidence going into the cleanse. The extra confidence surely led to my success.

Another good thing was the timing was perfect as I had recently spoken with my doctor about fasting. If you are thinking of trying this or any kind of fast you should definitely clear things with your doctor first. It’s your health don’t play games.

The final verdict: I feel much better after the 5 days and I am considering doing it again. Next time I will shoot for the full ten days. One suggestion I can offer is to take it easy when trasnitioning back into eating (the secrets book gives excellent guidance on this.)
