May 23rd, 2009 by Lucy Katts

If you own your own business, making sure that you have the right web marketing strategies will be essential to your success. After all, if people don’t know your business exists, how can they become a customer of yours? There are plenty of web marketing tips and strategies out there that can grow your business and help it to soar. As long as you take the time to be informed and know your options, you’ll find everything that you need.

One of the best web marketing expert tips is to let your business is market itself. That will only require you to setup your business and website properly. You can do this very quickly and easily. You just need to have the right information and know-how to do this. First, you should use SEO techniques, or Search Engine Optimization, to your advantage. Find keywords that are relevant to your business and use them in your website content. For example, if you have a real estate business, you should use popular search terms like “real estate” in your text, but don’t overdo it.

Be careful not to use too much SEO, though. SEO, done properly, can give your website a great ranking on search engines. If you use too much, you’ll probably get banned for keyword stuffing.

Other web marketing expert advice includes the use of social networking sites and other free advertising tools. Build a blog, a Facebook page, or other social profile for your business. This will allow you to interact with people more personally. People tend to be more interested in businesses when they’re befriended, rather than given a sales pitch. Using the social nature that is taking over the internet to your advantage will help your business succeed. It’s an awesome idea that you can market and advertise your business for free, after all. Many businesses haven’t had this luxury, but the internet has made marketing much more accessible and affordable for everyone.

Lenora’s Water Colors in England
May 23rd, 2009 by Lucy Katts

Lenora’s Water Colors in England UK seem to be a bit of a secret on the Internet, because as expected.. the term “Water colors” or “Water Colours Prints” entered into Google gives a huge 34 million search results.

The lovely Lenora (known as Ella to her friends) is a dog walking friend of my girlfriend - who has been sharing their adventures with me after being out across the countryside surrounding the village where we live. Ukranian born and married to a fine Englishman, I regularly get told of the confusions in accents and words and giggles that they get up to whilst chatting away and sharing their lives with each other during their walking sessions.

During working through my programming difficulties surrounding the latest development for a paintballing new website client of mine. In comes Angie and shares the news that Ella has a mini exhibition at a sweet village called Alford over the Easter weekend. Followed by asking me to pull up the website Lenoraswatercolors.com to see the little dog called ‘Dolly’ painted by Ella and the very Yorkshire Terrier which accompanies our Parsons Terrier on their zany adventures along the tracks, farmers fields and around the lake.

Having seen the cute little ‘Dolly’ we spent 10 minutes viewing other fine paintings by Ella of the countryside, specifically views from The Lake District - one of her favourite places in England. Other great paintings were of a Tiger, Elephants, a beautiful Stag, some lovely architecture, a lighthouse, forests and various cats !!! Altogther a great collection showing the skills our friend Ella has in painting water colors, and the prints are certainly worthy of their small asking price. Maybe I will commission her to paint a few originals once my house conversion is complete !

I’m also thinking that maybe my business partner in Holiday rentals franchises might find Ellas skills suitable for mediteranean sea scapes and the lovely buildings scattered everywhere. Mijas - here we come !

San Jose Sharks
May 23rd, 2009 by Lucy Katts

The San Jose Sharks are a professional ice hockey team based in San Jose, California, United States. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). They play their home games at the HP Pavilion at San Jose.

Although Northern California was not considered a particularly fertile hockey market, the NHL’s 1967 expansion included a Bay Area team, primarily because the terms of a new television agreement with CBS called for two of the new teams to be located in California. Thus, the Oakland Seals were one of the six expansion teams added, but were a failure both on the ice and at the gate. In 1976, after nine money-losing seasons and continued low attendance, the Seals (renamed the California Golden Seals in 1970), partly owned by Cleveland businessmen George and Gordon Gund, were moved to Cleveland, where they became the Barons. After two more years of losses, the Gunds were permitted to merge the Barons with the financially struggling Minnesota North Stars (now the Dallas Stars). The Gunds emerged as the owners of the North Stars as part of the deal.

For their first two seasons, the Sharks played at the Cow Palace in Daly City, just outside San Francisco, a facility that the NHL and the Seals had rejected in 1967. Pat Falloon was their first draft choice, and led the team in points during their first season. George Kingston was their first coach during their first two seasons. Though the 1991-92 roster was primarily comprised of NHL journeymen, minor leaguers, and rookies, the Sharks had at least one notable player when they acquired 14-year veteran and former Norris Trophy-winning defenseman Doug Wilson from the Chicago Blackhawks on September 6, 1991. Wilson was named the team’s first captain and All-Star representative in the inaugural season.
