Golf has been a long time sport of many in the United States. There are many different beautiful golf courses that you can be a part of, and you could spend your life traveling through all of the states and enjoying each and every golf course.

The famous ones, such as the Pebble Beach golf course, allow you to golf alongside some of the best golfers in the world. You might get to see a tournament, and you might get to play a round of golf knowing that there are professionals a couple of holes ahead of you.

The most amazing thing about the sport of golf in this United States is that no matter which state you are in you can golf in a place that is completely different and beautiful. Golfing alongside deer and nature in wooded golf courses in states like Virginia and Vermont gives you a chance to come to grips with nature and to explore the beauty of being alone in the woods with your golf club and your ball. However, golfing near the ocean, in course in Oregon, Florida, or California, as well as any other bordering state, gives you a chance to be in a fresh and amazing environment, where you can look out on great expanses of beauty and commune with the ocean in that way. If neither of these seems like it might interest you, try the golf courses in the Midwest states. Golfing in Wyoming or South Dakota or Iowa gives you chance to look at the beauty of nothingness – areas where you can see for miles and miles and see nothing but flat land. These public golf courses give you wonderful opportunities to see the sunsets on the prairies of our fine country. If mountains are your thing, golfing against these backdrops in Utah or Montana is a great idea because the rugged terrain that you will encounter can be matched like no other in the world.

Those that do not know golf in the United States feel that each golf course is the same. The beauty of this sport lies in the fact that no matter where you go, even if you are performing the same motions, you’ll be surrounded by something completely different each time, and you’ll be allowed to find ways to give yourself the chance to have this beauty with you no matter where you golf in the United States.

Profiting Online Simple Not Easy

One of the simplest and most overlooked aspects of online marketing is that it’s not complicated. More precisely, there are a lot of “experts” who try to make it complicated. Aside from whatever motivation they might have to do that online profits happen as the result of one simple equation –

Traffic + Conversion = Sales

– performed over & over again

There are MANY ways to get traffic (visitors) to your site and cause them to take some action or “convert,” which will either result in more leads or (less frequently) result directly in more sales to your business.

So here’s the other simple rule — you only need to master 1 or 2 traffic methods and 1 or 2 conversion methods, and you will make money. You don’t need to master the entire kitchen to make a grilled cheese sandwich, and you don’t need to know EVERYTHING about internet marketing in order to add revenue to your business.

With that in mind, there are a few basic traffic techniques I’ve implemented in some of my sites and client sites that have universally and consistently WORKED. Here are a few of those methods — but remember, you only need to pick one or two:

Increasing Visitor Count

1) Twitter is a highly effective means of targeting your niche and developing the conversation with your customers and prospects. In fact, it is second to none. However, most businesses don’t know how to use Twitter effectively. They spam with “sales tweets” — “Look at the cool new thing I’m selling.” The 80/20 rule is highly effective — 80% of your tweets should be about something interesting, funny or otherwise engaging… a question of the day like “What’s for lunch?”… anything to get people talking, laughing, thinking… Also, keep it consistent and be generous with re-tweets. A few tweets a day go a long way toward establishing a rabid list of followers. The wrong thing to do is to Tweet like a madman for a day or two and then disappear for a month. Or worse, don’t reply when someone direct messages you or @messages you. That’s like ignoring someone at a dinner party when they ask you to pass the gravy. You WON’T get any dessert.

2) Video marketing — one of the fastest ways to rank your site and get lots of inbound traffic. Keep your videos consistent — don’t show up one day in a baseball cap and dark lighting, talking about the rain, and another day bouncing in a jungle gym screaming about business leads. Consistent message, consistent tone, consistent look & feel. Also, be sure to put a call to action in your video’s description, as well as the full URL of your website’s landing page, and use appropriate keywords.

3) Article marketing is an evergreen method for outstanding traffic generation, with one HUGE caveat — mix it up! Putting the same article on 400 article directories will get you nowhere fast. You will get a bump in traffic from all the inbound links until Google figures out they’re all the same article and basically count it as one link. There are content spinners out there that alter the content of your articles automatically, but you have to be very careful here as well. Most content spinners change a word or two to replace it with a synonym, or they mash up the article randomly so the output is basically junk that cannot be read. It has to pass human review. So if you’re looking for a quality content spinner, ideally you want to be able to change the entire sentence many times throughout the article, and then have it spin those into hundreds of different articles. That’s the professional way to do it. At the bottom of your article, have a call to action in the information field; a blurb about you (the author) and a link to a free guide the reader can pick up at your website.

Visitors Taking Action

1) Keep it simple. The landing page has to do ONE thing — get people to ACT. For this reason, it’s been called a SINGLE ACTION PAGE. Pear it down to the bare essence of what you need the visitor to do. Consider placing a video on the page with a very simple message, “Hey thanks for stopping by for my free whizbang. Just type in your first name and e-mail address and I will rush it right over to you. In just a moment after you send your information, you’ll get an e-mail with a confirmation link. Click that link and I will instantly send your free whizbang.”

2) Direct, direct, direct. Notice the video script in #1 above — see how we instructed the user on exactly what they need to do? And then we told them what to expect next, and what they would then need to do. And we closed with a reminder of the benefit — the free whizbang.

If you have trademarked the term “whizbang,” then I apologize in advance. ;)

3) Test, test, test. ALWAYS have two versions of your landing page operating at one time. You can optimize your landing page using freely available Google tools in the Web Optimizer toolbox. You really can’t go on “gut” here — the data will be you every single time. Even on PPC ads, we have literally seen the addition of a question mark in the ad increase conversion by 16.8% So test, test, test.

The Wedding Day List

What is the origin of this wedding day list of must haves? Is it The formula for ‘happily ever after? Or is it somthing else fulfilled by the Grand tradition Specializing in California Wedding Receptions.

Something old, something new Something borrowed, something blue And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

A sixpence is a coin that was minted in Britain from 1551 to 1967. It was made of silver and worth six pennies. So this wedding tradition is definitely English, and many sources say that it began in the Victorian era.

Each item in this poem represents a good-luck token for the bride. If she carries all of them on her wedding day, her marriage will be happy. “Something old” symbolizes continuity with the bride’s family and the past.

“Something new” means optimism and hope for the bride’s new life ahead.

“Something borrowed” is usually an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride. The borrowed item also reminds the bride that she can depend on her friends and family. As for the colorful item, blue has been connected to weddings for centuries.

In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity. Christianity has long dressed the Virgin Mary in blue, so purity was associated with the color. Before the late 19th century, blue was a popular color for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, “Marry in blue, lover be true.

And finally, a silver sixpence in the bride’s shoe represents wealth and financial security. It may date back to a Scottish custom of a groom putting a silver coin under his foot for good luck. For optimum fortune, the sixpence should be in the left shoe. These days, a dime or a copper penny is sometimes substituted, and many Los Angeles Wedding packages include keepsake sixpences for weddings.

Are Model Trains Toys or Collectors Items?

The interest in model railways has seen a huge increase over the last few years, and particularly over the last few months. This increase in popularity, especially in the UK, has been put down to the credit crunch which has led to people getting involved in more home based and family oriented activities, rather than days or evenings out.

Model train build quality has also improved massively during the last few years. Having gone from crude tin plate, through basic plastic injection moulding, some of today’s models are highly intricate works of model engineering, with impressive amounts of detailing. This attention to detail really captures the character and feel of the original locomotive locomotive, coach item of rolling stock being modelled.

Some of the more recent Hornby Trains are particularly fine model trains with exceptional detailing. Gone are the days where these are just simple plastic mouldings, with all the detail cast into the main moulding. These newer models are now put together using many different parts. As an example, the recently released Hornby Schools Class presents an entirely reworked model. The firebox, boiler and dome are all cast in metal, whilst the smokebox, running plate, cab, chimney and smoke deflectors are plastic.

There is an abundance of accurate rivet detail and there are plenty of separately fitted items, such as brass safety valves, clack valves, nameplate, chimney and wire handrails.

It is almost a shame that perhaps the most visually attractive area of detailing will be almost lost from view. That is the cab interior and boiler backhead. The quality of the cab instruments, control levers and wheels is amazing. The calibrations on the gauges are legible under a magnifying glass, and the water gauge glasses, regulator, reverser and atomiser could be regarded as miniature works of art.

So will models of this quality end up being run on layouts by young children, or are these models now intended for collectors to proudly put on display? It is true that these new, highly detailed models do look magnificent on display but also look magnificent on a well built layout. That is not to say that they would look out of place on a basic layout either.

Hornby have obviously thought of this as they often produce Limited Edition models, clearly aimed at the collector. In 2008 they produced a 70th Anniversary Edition of the World Famous Class A4 Mallard, complete with gold plated exterior metal parts. This specially commissioned pack was limited to 5000 and each one comes complete with a certificate of Authenticity.

With the introduction of Digital Control, (DCC) locos now have features such as working lights that stay on something not feasible with a conventional layout unless using a separate power source in each loco and also sound. These new features add a whole new dimension to the hobby. These DCC locomotives are obviously intended to be used on layouts to add extra dimensions to the operation of the layout, and also as an added experience for the observers.

In contrast to this, Hornby additionally offer a range of models aimed at the younger enthusiast. Known as the RailRoad range, these models do not have the smaller, more easily damaged detail parts that are a feature of the main range. The Hornby RailRoad Range also offers a simple and cost effective way of getting into the hobby.

So, summing up. Are model trains toys, models or miniature works of art? The impressive quality of some of the recent models could well be classed as works of art. Many people are of the opinion that steam locomotives were works of art and these new models faithfully reproduce the character and charm of the originals. However, how many children still get a great amount of pleasure from operating their first train set? These are the ones that will become future enthusiasts and collectors as they grow older.

I suppose the answer is Yes to all three!
