King Air Mattress - Comfortably Luxurious
Feb 2nd, 2010 by Lucy Katts

Have you tried sleeping on a king air mattress lately? If not, try looking for one the next time you are shopping for an air bed and discover how it is to sleep on something that is seriously luxurious and comfortable. Camping as a family or with friends can be a fun and exciting experience, but not when you don’t have proper beds at night and you all end up feeling uncomfortably cramped during the night. How else can you appreciate the exhilaration of sleeping under the stars? A king air bed lets you share your bed with others while still having the advantage of having your own personal space that a twin or a full bed can give. With a king sized mattress, you can forget about feeling crowded and everyone gets to maximize their camping experience.

The standard size for a king air mattress is 76 inches wide and 80 inches long. Now that you know how big a king air bed is, it’s advisable for you to check the exact size of your tent to know if a bed with that size would fit, and if yes, will it still allow ample space for your bags or other stuff inside the tent.

As soon as you begin to shop around, you will discover that the prices for a king mattress differ depending on the brand name and its manufacturer. There are expensive brands such as Coleman. Although very popular, they are more pricey compared to the other brands. If you are intent on finding an affordable mattress, you can try looking for less popular brands but you have to exercise caution when buying a mattress manufactured by a lesser known brand. I’m pretty sure that you have no intention of sacrificing quality.

Once you invest in a king bed, you have to keep in mind that although your bed is durable, they are made largely of air so they can be punctured and break. If they do break, you will not be able to use them. So if you are going camping with your kids, make sure that you monitor them closely as children love jumping on beds! It’s also wise to avoid walking or stepping on an air bed. In addition, you have to take steps to ensure that the mattress does not end up with a hole in it so it’s best if you put something under your mattress (a thick blanket perhaps) so that rough edges and rocks won’t poke through it.

The king air mattress is also very versatile and flexible. You can use them at home or while camping. For example, if your house guests turn out to be more than what you expected, you can always offer them a king sized air bed, and place it on any floor space. If you and your family are camping enthusiasts, you can always look forward to and rely on the comfort that the air mattress brings. These benefits make the king mattress a good investment.

knitting and more

One of the most ancient materials for clothes is wool. Very shortly after our ancestors, the cave men, learned that you can carry half a dead furry animal or a lot of fur to keep warm, they discovered spinning wool. And what a superb material wool is! It has a lot of characteristics that synthetic fibres do not reach - astonishing.

If you are a wool aficionado and are fond of wool, you most probably will want to work with it. The first thing you could think about is spinning wool. I found a nice informative page about that on a german blog: Ashford Spinnräder

Next thing is of course dyeing wool yourself. This is something many people don’t dare…although it is pretty easy and can be done in any household with plant and a few chemicals. Have a look over here (sorry, the video is only in german):Bücher über Wolle färben

Last but not least you will want to knit with your wool, and let’s be honest, although it can be really fun to do all the things like spinning and dyeing yourself, most of the time you will just buy a good ball of wool in a shop.

Read here about knitting on this german blog: Strickanleitung Mütze

The wool shown on that page has proved to go nicely when knitting and is easy to wash. Now get your knitting needles or your spinning wheel and have some fun with wool!
